I was not looking for a Corvette that June 20th, 2003. I happened over to a co-workers house one day. He had said he had a lot of cars. I thought he was kidding. He wasn't! There must've been 15 vehicles in various states of repair on his 2 acres. I didn't even notice the Vette at first. Only when he mentioned a Vette, did I take a look. This car seems to be fairly loaded with options. You may've seen the 1974 LS4 454 Vette featured on another page on this site. I loved that car. I didn't want to sell it, but it was the right thing to do at the time. I will admit, however, the '80-'82 body style appealed to me more than the '74. The interior, the exterior, gauges, everything. Except the go power! This is a California car, complete with 305 cubic inches of thundering power! Yikes! The plans for this car? I won't get into too much detail, but here's what I have in mind: A large cubic inch, oval port big block, backed by a Richmond trans, hopefully a 6 speed. Add a couple more options to the car, including a rear window defroster and power mirrors. I'd love to add an openable rear window, like an '82 Collector Edition, but that may be a tough one. I'd like to go with the '82 Corvette Medium Blue like my '74 LS4 was painted, along with a black interior. I hope to take the body off the frame and start from there, and and either buy or make new everything on it. I've always wanted to do a complete body off, and this is going to be the car. I should think I could have it on the road in 2005. |
